CUBIST ANGEL
1983
Bronze, Fonderie Bonvicini, 1992
163 x 82 x 50 cm
At the back of the left calf: « Salvador Dalí », stamp of Fonderia Bonvicini and numbering 1/8 to 8/8 and EA I/IV to EA IV/IV.
A wax model of the Cubist Angel about 40 cm high was created based on Salvador Dali’s paintings in the Dalí Museum in Figueras.
These models for the Surrealistic Angel and the Cubist Angel were made by M. Thévenin and corrected by Dalí.
In 1992, enlargements of the originals were made by a Dalí craftsman in Verona (Fonderia Bonvicini), and controlled by Robert Descharnes. These were based on the wax model and Dalí’s painting. The multiple bronze cast (77 x 38 x 22 cm) is a reduction of the original made in Verona and controlled by Robert Descharnes.
450 multiple bronze sculptures were cast. The signature « Salvador Dalí » and the numbering are at the back of the left calf.
